Medical Support Programs

The Lesotho Connection, along with other partners, has assisted with bringing quality health care providers, equipment and medical supplies to clinics and hospitals in the Mohale’s Hoek district. Lesotho has a high incidence of severe medical diseases including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, blindness from cataracts, infant and childhood mortality from infection and early adult death from poor nutrition and now coronavirus.

TLC has facilitated in shipping 40’ containers of medical equipment and supplies from MedWish in Ohio. These items were distributed to 7 clinics and hospitals. The first container went in 2018, a second in 2020 and a third in 2021. Each was well received in the area.

“The truth is that MedWish and TLC from Ohio came to our rescue at the time of crisis and panic, not just in Lesotho but globally, that’s the truth!”

In 2018, and again in 2023, TLC supported a Medical Brigade of American doctors whom saw hundreds of patients at 5 clinics. That same team plans to return again soon and expand their outreach, particularly with eye specialists and cataract surgeries.

April 2020, unloading a container of medical equipment for the clinics and hospitals in Mohale’s Hoek. TLC staff were able to get “wish lists” from the clinics and MedWish did their best to fulfill them. Many boxes of PPE and life saving equipment landed in the district just when it was needed most!
