+ Doors Open at 5:30pm – come early to sip on beer or wine and browse the wonderful array of silent auction items! First silent auction closes at 6:30pm.

+ Live auction of exciting experiences including an authentic Scottish dinner, a traditional blanket from Lesotho, a 3 night stay at a Château and vineyard in France, and more!

+ Live performance by Will Bentley & Sam Colella inspired by their journey to the St.Camillus Centre in Lesotho! Click here for a video of the trip Will made with music performed by Sam & Will.

2014 The Lesotho Connection Oktoberfest and Auction

+ 6pm: Sip on beer or wine and browse the wonderful array of silent auction items!

+ 7pm: Delicious dinner of German sausages, potato salad, cod, and more lovingly prepared by Dave’s Meats!

+ 8pm: Live auction of exciting experiences including a catered tugboat ride on Commencement Bay, authentic Scottish and Italian dinners, a 3 night stay at a Château and vineyard in France, and more!

+ Save room for a Divine Dessert Dash!

+ Raffle ticket drawn for our Barrel of Booze!

+ Live music by The Macdaddy Band!

2014 Ohio Fundraiser Recap

The Connect With Friends event held in Bainbridge, Ohio on March 8th was a huge success.  More than 200 people attended the bash and enjoyed a silent auction, raffles, beer, wine and food.  We are happy to report that due to the generosity of all who contributed, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $35,000!  The funds will be put to good use buying food and daily necessities for the children of the St. Camillus Center.  We will also be able to fund furnishings for the new orphanage building to make the new living space a real home.

The evening highlight was a presentation by Sherry Hellenkamp, Linda Henry, KC Henry and David Chittock which was illustrated with photos of the kids of St. Camillus on a big screen.  Then the band Top Dog rocked the house with dance music.

It was an unforgettable night and the results will continue to benefit the St. Camillus kids for a long time to come.

To all that attended, contributed auction items or sent donations, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

St. Leo’s Annual Fair Trade Market

The Lesotho Connection will again be at St. Leo’s Annual Fair Trade Market this November 22nd-24th. Check out this link for more details on times and location.

This year we are very pleased to be able to offer a new line of hand crafted products from our new affiliate Mountains of Hope. There will be a variety of items from place mats to belts, crocheted from recycled plastic bags by artisans from Lesotho! Please mark your calendars and come out and support  TLC and Mountains of Hope.  Can’t wait to see you all there!

Booking It Cross Country Run/Walk

Events

This 2K and 5K event is held each year in late summer at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, WA.  This year’s date has been set for Saturday, August 10th. Please contact Shay or Kevin Glackin-Coley (kevinglackincoley@gmail.com) for information about how to get involved in organizing or assisting with the 7th annual Booking It event to be held in 2013. You can also visit the Booking It website for more information, including online registration.

The 6th Annual Booking It Run raised $1,500 for Scholarships!  Please accept our thanks, to all who turned out for the Booking It Run.  Because of you, scholarships will be provided to 3 high school and 2 grade school students in Lesotho this year.

December 2012

Come and “Connect with Lesotho” at the Spar – Tuesday, December 18th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  This is our grand final fundraiser as construction of the St. Camillus HIV/AIDS Center is scheduled to begin in January 2013.  Join us for food, fun, and prizes and to hear about the good work of the St. Camillus Center in Lesotho.

Board and Committee Work

TLC board business meetings and working committee meetings alternate each month and are held on every fourth Tuesday at 7 pm. Please contact us for more information if you would like to sit in on a board meeting or join a committee.
